House of Avorio is pleased and honoured to say we have adopted Lady Eleanorwho was rescued as an orphan at the age of 21 months by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Eleanor was rescued in Samburu by Bill Woodley who was on Safari at the time with the Governer of Kenya and his wife, Sir Patrick and Lady Eleanor Renison. The reason for her being found abandoned was never clear, but it was thought the 1961 dramatic floods may have played their part.
Many great organizations like Sheldrick Wildlife Trust are best known for their work to protect elephants, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. But we do much more than this.

Rescued orphan elephants in care require specialist milk formula to survive and the Keepers bottle feed the Nursery orphans freshly mixed milk every three hours, day and night.
