Established in 2020 by two close friends, House of Avorio was born from a shared passion for wellness, a love for finely designed jewelry, and a commitment to crafting high-quality accessories. Our jewelry, made from carefully sourced materials, is crafted to complement anyone who wears it.
The name "House of Avorio" is a tribute to the Earth's magnificent and threatened elephants. "Avorio," meaning Ivory in Italian, symbolizes the tusks of these majestic creatures we deeply admire. It serves as a reminder of the human impact on their existence. We hold deep respect for nature and feel a sense of gratitude towards all its creations. The Italian term also honors Vanessa's late Grandfather, commemorating a loving bond that will always be cherished.

Calling Alberta home for over 15 years, Vanessa is a business professional with a creative flare. Channeling her love to create through the development of the product, photography and website development. She works as a full time accountant by day, and jewelry designer at night.
You will find Vanessa, behind the scenes taking photos and working on the marketing. Catch her in action with her camera!
Lynn
MANAGING DIRECTOR.
Born and raised in Alberta and calling Calgary home for 15 years, Lynn has worked in fashion for 20 years in Canada and abroad. She is passionate about learning and development, and health and wellness. Lynn has recently completed her second degree in Human Resources to accompany her degree in accounting.
Additionally, not only is she a stunning model for House of Avorio, but has recently joined a modeling agency. Keep you eyes out to see Lynn modelling for local brands.

Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
House of Avorio is pleased and honoured to say we have adopted Lady Eleanorwho was rescued as an orphan at the age of 21 months by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Eleanor was rescued in Samburu by Bill Woodley who was on Safari at the time with the Governer of Kenya and his wife, Sir Patrick and Lady Eleanor Renison. The reason for her being found abandoned was never clear, but it was thought the 1961 dramatic floods may have played their part.
Many great organizations like Sheldrick Wildlife Trust are best known for their work to protect elephants, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (SWT) operates the most successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program in the world. But we do much more than this.

Rescued orphan elephants in care require specialist milk formula to survive and the Keepers bottle feed the Nursery orphans freshly mixed milk every three hours, day and night.
